When are Walleye the Most Active?

There a few things to consider when you are trying to successfully catch Walleye.  Walleye are affected by a few different factors, the most common are water temperature, light levels, and how much food they can find. Walleye are the most active during early morning and late evening when the light levels are low. They prefer the warmer months of the year when water temperatures hit 60 and climb higher with their preferred temperature being 65-75. A very important thing to remember is that Walleye will throughout the summer migrate to areas that hold food and optimum temps. There are certain times of the year that Walleye will become more aggressive. One of these periods of aggressive behavior is in the spring while they are spawning.
