What is a Strike Indicator?

 

Strike indicators are small, buoyant objects the fly fisher attaches to the leader of the fly fishing setup to indicate when a fish takes the fly. Strike indicators come in many different shapes, sizes, and materials, all to let the angler know when a fish is on the line. They are made out of high visibility foam, yarn or plastic.
